RISK MANAGING IN UNIT TRUST INVESTMENT
Many sites that highlighted that investment in unit trust can generate profits.
Here I am not going to talk about the advantages but what I would point out is how do we ensure that our investment will not shrink in value just before we retired.
Here also I calculate your saving is enough for your retirement monthly expenses requirement. Please remember that our retirement saving should enough for us to sustain at our age of 75years for male and 80 for female. Statistic is shown Malaysian is currently is taking serious on their health conscious and that why Malaysian Government is encourage us to work till 60 years old.
Lets us go to investment strategy..

Lets us go to investment strategy..
During initial investment, unit trust agents will ask the purpose of investment eg
1. Preserve Capital
2. Return slightly better than the bank rate
3. Moderate income / capital growth
4. High capital growth
5. Maximise capital growth
2. Return slightly better than the bank rate
3. Moderate income / capital growth
4. High capital growth
5. Maximise capital growth
For Employees Provident Fund EPF members, they would prefer no 4 and 5 where the high & maximize capital growth will provide more than EPF return
We also know that a fund that provides high return give high risk.
So what is our strategy in dealing with this situation.
So what is our strategy in dealing with this situation.
When we invest we should divide the period investment in 3 parts where
The first; first in investing
The second, intermediate investment
The third part; prior to retirement.
All the above division can be divided into 3 options
1> The first part, at an early stage in investment and we ccan put in High Risk High Return Fund. Where we can generate a return on our investment.
2> The second part where we have at least 8 years before retiring
3> The third section where we will retire in three years.
I have made an application to facilitate us to simulate our investment ....
• Participant Data Requirement
Time giving an impact to the expected monthly expenses from RM2,500 to RM6,162 within 23 years and this is based on the inflation rate of 4%.
Question do you have enough saving to cater the increment by the inflation rate?
If not invested your money in the institutions that give highest return then you can not cater the money depreciation by the inflation rate. And you should know the inflation rate can caused by external factor such as the cost increased and the second one is your increment by changes in your lifestyle.
If your age 37 and you will retiring in 23 years and within 23 years your expectation to use RM2,500 monthly it become RM6,162 in the year 2037. Can you imagine that how the time and inflation rate gave the impact to your expenses in the future.
Dividing Investment Over investment time
Portfolio selection
To maximize profits there are several steps that can be done
However, I will take you to an era in which this simulation will indicate when you will run out of money investments and strategies to extend your investment money from runs out ......
